Le Clos d'Alzeto
Know-how
An exceptional family vineyard in Corsica
A family estate, Clos d'Alzeto has belonged to the ALBERTINI family since 1800. Located on the west coast of the Isle of Beauty, north of Ajaccio, Clos d'Alzeto is Corsica's highest vineyard.
Established 5 generations ago, CLOS D'ALZETO has endured over the years without ever ceasing to be farmed. Indeed, even during the 2 world wars, when the land was deserted by men, the women and children of the ALBERTINI family looked after the vines and made the wines.
With just 6 hectares of vines in the early 1970s, Pascal Albertini now heads a 50-hectare vineyard.
A land of maquis, conquered year after year until it reaches the foot of the cliff in the heart of the Cinarca valley. Forming a cirque, the vineyard overlooks the sea at an altitude of 500 meters, the highest point of vine-growing on the island.
Today, Pascal ALBERTINI and his 3 children (Alexis, Brigitte and Alain) ensure the continuity of this tradition, combining ancestral know-how, modernity and respect for nature, with a single aim: quality.
This terroir of granitic arenas, classified in the Ajaccio appellation, produces fresh white wines with 100% Vermentinu grapes, fruity, crisp rosés and long-keeping reds with Sciaccarello grapes.
Visit their boutique to discover their wines and olive oil, which you can enjoy with a guided tasting, as well as a selection of the best regional products.
