The Bonifato Forest: a place not to be missed
Walks and Hikings
Considered one of the green lungs of the Balagne region, the Bonifato forest (Regional National Park) covers almost 3,000 hectares, encircled by a mountain range stretching from the villages of Calenzana to Moncale.
Some of the trees are over a hundred years old.
Located 20km from Calvi and its surrounding area, the Bonifato forest offers a fabulous playground and living space.
From the La Figarella river and its natural pools to the hiking trails that give access to some of the world's greatest trails, such as the GR20 or the Mare é Monti, it's a real place of resources and adventure.
Etymologically "The Forest of Benefits". Bonifatu was once a privileged place to recharge one's batteries and cure illnesses, thanks to the coolness of the forest and the pure water of the Spasimata fountain.
